                  AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING EAST 29TH
                  STREET (HOPKINS STREET) LOCATED SOUTHEAST FROM
                  SOUTH HICKORY STREET, SOUTHWEST OF BROWN
                  STREET, AND AN ALLEYWAY LOCATED SOUTHWEST FROM
                  BROWN STREET BETWEEN SOUTH HICKORY STREET AND
                  FAXON STREET, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED
                  HEREIN.
                 
                 
                                                    
                 
                 
       	    	 SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
       CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
       and abandoned East 29th Street (Hopkins Street) located southeast 

       from South Hickory Street, southwest of Brown Street, and an
       alleyway located southwest from Brown Street between South 
Hickory
       Street and Faxon Street, more particularly described herein, and
       as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part hereof by refer-
       ence:
            East 29th Street (formerly Hopkins Street), a 40 foot
            wide unopened right-of-way beginning on the southeast
            line of South Hickory Street 288.75 feet southwest of
            the intersection of the southeast line of South Hickory
            Street with the southwest line of Brown Street, and
            extending southeast some 275.44 feet between parallel
            lines to the northwest line of Faxon Street.  Said
            street separates lots 138 and 144, block 12, from lots
            145 and 151, block 13, Central Park Land Company
            Subdivision, as shown by plat of record in plat book 6,
            page 35, ROHC.
           
            A 10 foot wide unopened alleyway beginning on the
            southwest line of Brown Street 135 feet northwest of the
            intersection of the southwest line of Brown Street with
            the northwest line of Faxon Street, and extending
            southwest 288.75 feet between parallel lines, and
            parallel to Faxon Street, to the northeast line of East

            29th Street.  Said alleyway separates lots 133-138,
            block 12, from lots 139-144, block 12, Central Park Land
            Company Subdivision, as shown by plat of record in plat
            book 6, page 35, ROHC.
           
            Tax Map No. 156I-K-1 and 12-15, and 156P-H-3.
           
           
       	    	 SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance
       shall be effective two (2) weeks from and after its passage as
       provided by law.
